Choosing the best car insurance company can be very overwhelming. There is an added stress when having to choose between lower premiums and better coverage (which typically comes with a higher bill). The Florida minimum required policies are: Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Property Damage (PD) coverage. There are many coverage options available, and deductibles normally range from $0 to $2,000.00.
Personal Injury Protection (PIP) is a standard coverage and has a limit of $10,000.00. It relates to payment of medical expenses and lost wages related to car accidents regardless of who is at fault. Note that Florida is a No-Fault state. This policy covers 80% of all medical expenses, where patients are expected to pay a deductible of 20%.
Property Damage (PD) coverage is also required by the state of Florida, and it offers coverage for the damage caused to another automobile assuming the insured was at fault. This protection covers up to $10,000 in damages regardless of the value of the claim.
