According to The New Herald, Florida is the State with the most motorcycle accidents (Posted on 04- 25-16). In order to drive with passengers, the motorcycle or moped must be designed by the factory with the regular seat of 2 people. It can be either behind the driver or to the side. The law states that all children under 5 years of age must use the child seat approved federally and certified with crash tests, and must be separate from the driver. Additionally, everyone under the age of 16 must wear a seat belt.
It is also important before taking a ride to educate children in relation to keeping hands and legs to themselves, wearing a helmet and eye protectors. It is the adults’ responsibility to safeguard the integrity of minor passengers and abide by all safety standards already stipulated in the matter. In case a child needs your attention, the safest thing to do is to stop and not try to take care of it while driving.
